I cooked a simple prawn dish called ‘prawns with carrots and bell pepper julienne’ for lunch today. Julienne is food preparation in thin long strips.
I made it a mild spicy dish by adding cayenne pepper.
If you want to try this recipe, here are the ingredients: (*I’m not really into measuring cups, so you won’t find it here
* shrimps, peeled and deveined
* button mushrooms
* carrots julienne
* bell pepper julienne
* dash of cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt to taste, garlic
* onion julienne
* minced garlic
* cornstach
* chicken or shrimp cubes
Here are the steps:
1. Saute garlic, onion, and mushrooms in olive oil ( a little amount will do).
2. Add carrots, after 3 minutes, add the bell pepper.
3. Season to taste.
4. Add the prawns washed in lemon or calamansi with water
5. Mix all ingredients and pour half cup of water with cornstach to thicken the sauce.
6. Voila! You have a wonderful prawn lunch

I love prawns and that looks really appetizing. too bad allergic (kuno) si tia sa shrimp.
@calv: basing on the ingredients, tia amiga can use squid instead of prawns
@jo: galing mo! I love how you cut the prawns ala butterfly! it’s so resto-style. By the way, can you also share your chicken macaroni soup?
